The smiling women above met at Terisita’s on March 30, 2011, bursting with the desire to get to know the interesting and resourceful, local and international women of Álamos. If you live in Álamos, Sonora, Mexico, or visit regularly, we want to hear your story and we want to share it on this blog and in a book.
Donna Love, author/memoirist, will gladly receive your story for publication. See Story Guidelines for more information. Excerpts from stories will soon be posted on this blog for all the world to see.
Joan Winderman, author/jewelry maker, is besotted collecting names of Álamos artists (105++) and is committed to this project. Patricia Hamilton, author/publisher, will design and publish the book of these stories. Bernadette McAllister, award-winning photographer, and Betsy Maier will be adding their talents to this project.

Elena Chavarria, writer, artist, and translator extraordinaire, has joined with us to make our community of women complete, bringing our Latina sisters into our circle. Elena is contributing several stories she has gathered of more interesting Álamos women. Thank you!
Planning for the big book launch/party is underway, scheduled for Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2012, in Álamos, time and place to be announced.
